Porphyry volcanic rock

270 million years ago Trentino porphyry, a primary, effusive volcanic stratified rock, was born. Porphyry consists of a vitreous base paste, very compact in which quartz crystals are immersed, giving the artifacts excellent physical-mechanical characteristics capable of tolerating well all the disturbing actions generated by nature and man both from the physical and biological point of view and from the chemical-mechanical point of view.

The data emerging from technical laboratory tests in accordance with European standards show that porphyry resists frost and salt, has high values in terms of compressive and flexural strength, but above all it is not slippery whatever the context of use, nor does it wear out due to wear and tear or traffic, and is not altered by acids. In practice, it is stone with no contraindications: the more porphyry undergoes the natural elements, rain, snow, frost and sun, the more the material finds its fullest appreciation.

Now with a new technology it is possible to enhance the use of porphyry for interior design as well, engraving with customized textures, the surface, whether natural or processed, with an excellent result. This new range of processing has been created with "Linea mia."
