Natural quarry surface

The typical peculiarity of porphyry made in Italy is that it occurs in quarries in slabs with thicknesses ranging from a few centimeters to a few decimeters. Through the manual flaking of the rock layers, particularly resistant slabs are obtained with at least a single natural surface, planar, with intrinsic non-slip properties, and rough enough to make the material simply perfect for paving or cladding without altering the very essence of the stone in any way.

Therefore, an unmistakable characteristic of Trentino porphyry compared to most other stones available on the market is that while the former necessarily undergoes shearing or sawing on all sides including the surface faces, or at least the mechanical transformation of the surface intended for walking, porphyry, offered in cubes, slabs or tiles retains all the prerogatives granted to it by nature, including wonderful color effects. Perhaps no other stone, better than porphyry, is able to maintain on the finished product the perfect correspondence with the colors perceived in the quarry face and thus of the mountain. Certainly no other stone allows, better than porphyry, to find a perfect symbiosis with the surrounding environment to enhance the different design choices, especially when they are an expression of balanced elegance and exclusive combinations.
