Identity

A stone for the world

In just a few decades our porphyry has touched every corner of Europe, and our installers, on the strength of a well-established tradition and a very close bond between man and material, between father and son, have soon put their signature on prestigious achievements distributed throughout the continent, easily winning the general appreciation of the design world as well.
At the beginning of the new millennium, globalization, intensifying international economic relations and liberalizing trade, has contributed to making our identity even stronger. It was natural for us to bring out our peculiarities as a reality strongly oriented toward respect for territorial values, the exaltation of manufactured skills and knowledge without yielding to the pure logic of price and quantity.

A very elegant story

It is certainly not rhetoric to claim that Porphyry is part of our DNA. Because "our" porphyry, in addition to being hard rock that is difficult to quarry, is primarily the mineral that has made up our land, making it at times impervious and inconvenient even for the most typical of primary activities, agriculture. It is no coincidence that in our parts we speak of "heroic viticulture," carried out manually on impossible gradients. Our people are devoted to work and toil. With tenacity and perseverance they have always been able to meet the challenges of nature.
Among the greatest trials of the past was certainly the transition from farmers to quarrymen to specialized stone layers. Since the 1920s, our grandparents first, our fathers later, instinctively grasped that the peculiarities of a layered and durable material like porphyry were simply perfect for riding the new all-European trend of paving and lining streets, squares and courtyards.
